What a Year!
Looking back at 2016 , I cannot help but marvel at how amazing this year has been. My friends and I started the year with a 40-day fast where we shared our prayer needs and expectations. This has got to be my most amazing memory of 2016 because we saw our prayers being answered! The most exciting ones are the ones we received a YES! The most eye-opening ones were the ones the answer was no or not now. I remember, whenever things would not turn out how I prayed, I would cry (yes, true story) and say I will trust you Lord, no matter what. As a result, my faith grew.
Lessons in 2016
Believe in yourself
I never truly realized how much more I can achieve when I simply believe that in myself. On the flip-side, I would doubt my every move and start comparing myself to others. In 2016, I learnt the true meaning of comparison being the thief of Joy. Every time I stopped concentrating on my growth and development and watched others, do more and grow, my own growth stunted and my joy was stolen. When you chose to look only ahead and remain focused on what bring you joy, only then do you start to grow.
Never Stop Learning
Once you start telling yourself that you know everything, only then do you stop growing. In 2016, I set out to learn as much as possible. I decided to asked for help from well-known digital marketers to teach me how to grow my social networks and improve interactions with my audience. My most memorable moment was when Nancie Mwai, sat with me over a nice Indian meal and went through my Instagram and followed people from who I have drawn so much inspiration. This year, I plan to read and do more research on how I can grow my blog to being a super knowledge base for people all over the world!
Attitude of Gratitude
Do not tire of being grateful and giving thanks. What you are grateful for, increases. I must that I made more valuable friendships and relationships in 2016. I did this by showing genuine appreciation for the people in my life. I started to see love as a verb and not a noun.
Complaining when things go wrong is very normal. Last year I decided to take a minute and look for God in the situation rather than the gravity of the situation. Consequently, I simply started giving thanks to God for being bigger than any challenge that came my way. .
Celebrate Small Wins
Further to giving thanks in all circumstances, I plan to celebrate my small wins rather than look at what is not going my way. Furthermore,I now realize that I was wasting valuable time watching other people achieve their goals while mine were just thoughts that I was not acting on. This year, I plan to tirelessly count my blessings and in addition to saying it here, I have made a gratitude jar. In this jar, I write down what I am grateful for everyday. From Great photo shoots to amazing blog posts and articles, I anticipate a year filled with celebration. I purpose not to forget to share milestones with you guys and possibly super giveaways. This year is going to rock!!
In conclusion, I purpose to be Fearless this year!
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
