Hey there! and thank you for stopping by.
In a time where everything seems to going wrong how can one be happy? How can one experience joy?
Well, this is exactly what the enemy wants you to think and consequently believe.
I do not want to please him one bit.
I sat down thinking what has the Lord done for me right now that i should be thankful for?
Be Joyful Always: 1 Thessalonians 5:16
Be Joyful Always
From the above verse, always is not sometimes,or when things are good,or when you have money or when you got what you have been praying for. It is all the time. During the good times and the bad times; just like its said in the vows. The Bible also does not say be happy. It says Be Joyful! Kirk Franklin says in one of his songs that you need not be happy-because something needs to happen -you need to be joyful because nothing can steal this one from you! Sorry Pharrell-I am joyful!
This comes to you and I who cease to pray as soon as our prayer has been answered. When it is hardest to pray, pray the hardest. Pray even for those things that you think are obvious! Those things that you think are trivial! Pray! I made my friend laugh one time when she asked me for tips to grow her hair and I said without batting an eyelid-Pray! If God knows all the hair on my head-shouldn’t He know how to cause them to be healthy and to grow them? It does not need to make sense to you for you to pray about it-yours is in the what-not the how!
Give thanks IN all circumstances
It carefully does not say for all circumstances! It says in all. You know you could be in the middle of something that does not really seem to draw thanksgiving from your heart. Give thanks for it! Most of the time we are one thanksgiving away from our breakthrough. Make it your ambition to give thanks when going through your darkest moments as it will turn your heart from your circumstances and cause you to focus on your saviour. When you begin to give thanks you start to see that what you are fussing about is so minute compared to the Big God you have! You begin to see that God has done so much for you already-you just need to trust him.
So I would like to challenge you to a 7 day gratitude challenge. Each day list down 5 things that you are grateful for.Let me know how it goes!
Be blessed! Be Joyful!
