I hope your week is off to a great start. Let’s talk about starting afresh.
Back in 2010, I started an online business and attached a fashion blog to it. Writing made me happy and gave me life.
I would take pictures with my small sony camera and not even bother editing them. I was just happy to share my thoughts. Share my ideas. Share my then growing style.
Then, I just stopped.
I starting trying to measure up to other fashion bloggers and writers and tried to emulate them in a bid to grow my audience but this only left me feeling worse and sometimes even depressed.
I battled with comparing myself with other, how many people commented on their posts, how many people followed them on social media and even how many events they were invited to.
Comparison is the thief of joy: Theodore Roosevelt
Then came my husband. My fresh start. This man believed in me so much and asked me to start writing. he said write for me. I will read every sentence and like and comment everywhere, and I did.
I write from my heart. I keep telling myself, feel the fear and do it anyway.
My goal is to be a fearless influencer. I hope to inspire hope, to teach and preach restoration and little things like how to wear this and that and how to fix your hair and how to wear makeup go a long way in helping people gain back their self confidence.
My web developer told me that if I stick to my gut and believe in my message and change just one person’s life, then that is enough.
I hope that even as you visit this page, you will find inspiration and find hope and really cool style , beauty and hair tips plus so much more that will be unveiled in the weeks to come.
This is not just another fashion blog-Though I love fashion; this is a resource bank for all women of purpose seeking to live with no regrets and joyfully.
Starting afresh is not easy. However, I choose to. Boldly and without fear. Competing with no one but myself. I plan to be authentic in my writing. I plan to teach, inspire hope and bring about change. Growing an audience would be wonderful, attracting more readers would be thrilling however I have to work hard, smart and stay true to who I am and what my message is.
This blog is just the beginning, something bigger and better is underway. You will be first to know about it.
Keep reading and thank you for your support.
For your style dose, take a look at one of my favorite work outfits. In fact, I wore this look to work today.
This blue dress was made for me by my mum’s tailor Judy. I paired it with faux pearl earrings and necklace.
For my shoe game, I wore strapped heels that are actually black and white and though higher than my normal height, they are extremely comfortable.
I hope you enjoy this post. Let me know in the comments below.
